
Suzanne Pleshette was an American actress, voice, and film actor. She lived from January 31st, 1937 to January 19, 2008. Pleshette began her acting career in the theatre and appeared in films during the latter half of the 1950s. Later, she appeared in films that were notable, such as Rome Adventure (1962), Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds (1963), or Spirited Away (192001). Later, she appeared on several television productions and was frequently as a guest actor. She was Emily Hartley in The Bob Newhart Show, 1972-1978 in which she earned several Emmy Award nominations. Pleshette was the daughter of Geraldine (nee Kaplan), and Eugene Pleshette. She was born in Brooklyn Heights, New York City, on January 31 in 1937. Her parents were Jewish and children of immigrants from Russia, Austria-Hungary. She was the daughter of Geraldine Rivers, a performer and dancer. Her father was a stage director in both the Paramount Theater and Paramount Theater in Manhattan.
